Imagine Gifts Celebrates Its First Anniversary With Local Talent For A Good Cause.
Miami’s Best Green Store is turning ONE YEAR old and the owners of Imagine Gifts are celebrating it with a fundraising event along with a live performance by well-known Miami’ artist Daniel Fila, aka KRAVE ART.

Miami, Feb. 18, 2010—A year after their grand opening, Gregg Lasky and José Luis Sosa, owners of Imagine Gifts, have decided to celebrate in the only way they know: by featuring the work of some of Miami’s rich, local talent and helping others. Well-known Miami artist  Art Basel participant Daniel Fila, aka Krave Art, will be painting live while helping support Charity: Water, an organization that helps  provide clean water to people in Africa. You can also help through Imagine Water.

Imagine’s One Year Celebration will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at its location in The Shops at Midtown Miami, 3252 NE 1st Avenue Suite 108 (on Buena Vista Avenue, across from Lime) starting at 7:30 p.m., with Eco-friendly cocktails courtesy of VeeV and music by DJ Brimstone 127, as well as special discounts for people who make donations to the cause.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our first year of business, but the best part is that, since day one, our mission has always been to support local talent and help others, and this event is the perfect opportunity to fulfill those objectives,” says Gregg Lasky, co-owner of Imagine.

“We are very excited to bring Krave Art to Imagine, along with the chance to help support Charity: Water,” adds José Luis Sosa, Imagine’s other co-owner. “It really make a different in the community, both locally and internationally.”

Daniel Aaron Fila, 29, holds a B.F.A from Columbus College of Art and Design. With more than a decade of working experience, this Miami native currently works and resides in his hometown. His formal training began early, and attending a magnet school in downtown Miami gave him street-level exposure to urban culture, which evoked many artistic responses. Notable organizations such as The Adrienne Arsht Center, MTV, The Ritz-Carlton and Greyhound have licensed Daniel’s work.

About Charity: Water

Founded by Scott Harrison in New York, this foundation began to raise money in 2006 to help develop ways to provide clean water in different countries in Africa, where something as simple as clean water is nonexistent for a large number of people, including, of course, children. Charity: Water started by collecting donations at Scott’s 31st birthday instead of gifts, and since then, the organization has become an international force in helping people. In addition, every September, those whose birthday occurs in this month make donations through a special program called borninseptember.org.
